Our name
Tang and Abula
Every name carries a story. Ours carries two. Tangabula brings together a mother’s and daughter’s names. A simple nod to family lineage, and the things we carry from one generation to the next.
The brand was built on that same idea. Not simply something beautiful to wear, but something meaningful to keep — pieces made with care, carrying culture and family forward, and worth handing on.
Fabric & craftsmanship
Cloth with a story
Every Tangabula piece begins with the fabric. We work with traditional and contemporary African textiles —From hand-woven Aso Oke and Adire to other carefully chosen fabrics, each selected for what makes it special.
Much of what we use is made by hand, so slight variations in weave, texture, and finish are part of their character rather than flaws. They’re a reminder of the hands and processes behind the cloth and part of what makes one piece a little different from the next.
