Size Guide
Finding your size with Tangabula is simple. Most of our pieces are offered in alpha sizes from S to XXL. Our boubous and other relaxed silhouettes are made in One Size, cut to move easily across a range of bodies.
Because our garments are made from traditional and contemporary African textiles and other carefully selected fabrics, each piece carries its own character. Slight variations in weave, texture, and print placement are natural, and part of what makes your piece yours.
How to Measure
For the most accurate fit, measure your body rather than a garment you already own. Use a soft measuring tape, keep it level, and hold it comfortably against the body without pulling tight. It helps to measure over light clothing, or none at all.
Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waistline, usually just above the navel.
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, with your feet together.
For tailored separates, you may also want your shoulder width and preferred garment length. Each product page lists the measurements of that specific piece, so you can compare before ordering.

One Size Pieces
Our boubous, kaftans, and other flowing designs are made in One Size. They are cut generously and meant to fall softly away from the body, so they sit beautifully across a wide range of shapes, roughly a US 4 to 18.
For these pieces, length and shoulder width matter more than bust or waist. You will find both, along with the full garment dimensions, on each product page.
How Our Pieces Are Meant to Fit
Tangabula silhouettes are designed with intention, and different styles wear differently.
Relaxed styles
Boubous, kaftans, and kimonos are made to drape and flow. A generous fit here is by design. If you prefer a closer line, our matching sets and tailored pieces will suit you better.
Structured styles
Matching sets and tailored separates follow the size chart more closely and are meant to sit near the body. For these, we recommend measuring carefully.
Between sizes
For structured pieces, we suggest sizing up for ease of movement. For relaxed and One Size pieces, either size will usually work beautifully.
A Note on Fabric
Some of our textiles, such as Aso Oke and brocade, are woven with structure and very little stretch. On these pieces your measurements matter more, so we recommend checking the garment dimensions on the product page before ordering. Softer fabrics offer a little more give.
