The Journey of a Tangabula Piece
Every Tangabula piece begins with intention. From fabric to final details, each piece is thoughtfully considered and produced in small quantities.
Here’s a little of what goes into the pieces that make their way to you.
Where a piece begins
We design with real life life in mind – pieces to wear, enjoy and return to beyond a simple season. Fabric, fit and detail all play a part in what each piece eventually becomes.
The textiles
Our collection brings together traditional and contemporary African textiles, from hand woven Aso Oke and hand – dyed Adire to brocades, embroidered nets and other carefully chosen fabrics.

The making
Each design is cut and constructed with care, with attention to the details and finishing along the way. Before a piece is ready, it is checked to make sure it meets our standards.Â
Made in small numbers
We produce in limited quantities, by choice. Smaller runs let us hold to our standards, and give each piece the attention it deserves.Â
Meant to be kept
We want Tangabula pieces to be worn well, enjoyed often and kept for a long time.
A note on natural variation
Because some of the textiles we work with are woven, dyed or finished by hand, slight variations in color, weave, print placement, texture, or finish are natural and may vary from one piece to the next
